How I made a hype video that increased participation in the most ambitious event on the People’s Church calendar
Twice a year, 21 Days of Prayer is a call for the church body to show up for something unique: Three straight weeks of prayer and fasting. With daily worship and prayer topics, this event is strategically scheduled in order to launch the church into the busiest times of year. The church body is invited to gather in unity, and plug into upcoming volunteer opportunities. But if the promo didn't land, momentum could stall from the start.

I was chosen to tackle this project thanks to my dual capability of creating high-energy visuals and crafted messaging. I had one week to create a video that didn't just announce the event but actually made members want to opt into a 21-day commitment. In this process, I found a visual language that matched the creative direction, crafted it with excellence, and finished on time.
During the edit, I aligned the synchopated the beats and motion graphics with the rhythm of the footage. My goal was to help the audience recontextualize the power and potential of prayer and fasting. It was crucial to leadership that members invest more than just visiting once for a spiritual high, but also avoid making it a religious box to check. To counteract these concerns, the video built anticipation for a month prior, and during the twenty-one days to and maintain momentum.
Attendance smashed expectations, and the video reached over 3500 cross-platform impressions and became the top-performing promo for 21 Days of Prayer on youtube and social accounts. The greater impact was building it as an evergreen system. It became the template for the same event in January with new dates, freeing up time for the team thanks to the streamlined blueprint I created.
